Covering Your Tracks – 16

Polish Metallers Acid Drinkers‘ new release – Fishdick Zwei – The Dick is Rising Again – is a giant metal ball of fun. Like 1994’s Fishdick, it is an album of cover songs. The tracks on Fishdick Zwei are surprisingly diverse, covering such disparate artists as Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Donna Summer and Slayer. All with a subtle polish twist.

The fun really kicks into high gear with one track in particular; the cover of The B52s’ “Love Shack.” The original is a delight to listen to, and quirky enough on its own. Add some distortion, some salty language, a polish accent and you got yourself about 5 minutes of pure awesome. Grab the whole album, its a fucking blast.
