tweet of the day – 03.25.14

Here’s a Hobby Lobby case post that has most of what you need to know about it. And a post at Think Progress about the damage possible should SCOTUS rule in favor of HL.

Also, Delaney is a subversive tweeter, albeit subtle (sometimes)

surprising tweet from last night

Last night twitter was, of course, on fire and all over the place. i managed to catch a tweet from a senator that noone on “our side” probably expected.

Dear Sen. Stockman,
You and I probably don’t agree on much in terms of policy, and you may say some crazy shit sometimes, but I know that you hold your beliefs without cynicism. To pull an Andrew Sullivan, your tweet showed true Judicial Conservatism. Your followers weren’t happy about it, because their hate for our president supercedes common sense and following our constitution. Still and all, it was heartening to see you express, even in a tweet, your confidence in America, and her justice system.

sometimes satire can be so poignant

for example, from The Onion

WASHINGTON—Calling the last four days of American life just…I mean, talk about a goddamned punch in the gut, citizens across the nation confirmed today that, Jesus, this week.

This fucking week, sources added.

“Seriously, can we wrap this up already?” Maryland resident James Alderman told reporters, echoing the thoughts of all 311 million Americans, who have just about reached their weekly goddamned quota for carnage, misery, confusion, heartbreak, and rage. “Because, you know, I’m pretty sure we’ve all had our hearts ripped out of our chests and stomped on enough times for one seven-day period, thank you very much.”

“Gotta hand it to this week, though,” added the entire American populace, laughing and crying at the same time. “It’s a motherfucker.”

Indeed, fuck this week. There’s still next week, though, and there’s at least a glimmer of hope in that.

tweet of the day – 03.15.13

if you can’t see the image, the note says;

I overheard your phone conversation with Mike last night about your plans to come out to me. The only thing I need you to plan is to bring home OJ and bread after class. We are out, like you now. I’ve known you were gay since you were six. I’ve loved you since you were born.
P.S. Your Mom and I think you and Mike make a cute couple.

tolerance and acceptance are beautiful things..

inaugural quilt

the other day i tweeted:

in response to something Ayn Rand Paul Ryan said about someone’s Obama poster fading, or something.

I lied, it isn’t a tapestry, its a quilt, but it is huge- about the size of a king-size blanket:

the quilt has not faded, neither have the words.

–the address

keep in mind, as these words were being spoken, the “loyal opposition” was scheming to undermine the President from the very start.

because its funny
